About the Artist

The Takács String Quartet opened our virtual 2020-2021 season with a Watch Party that constituted their 21st appearance on our series. As a special holiday treat, we are delighted to be able to relive their incredible performance, recorded live from Boulder, Colorado. The concert stream will remain available for free on-demand viewing from Sunday, December 13 through Sunday, December 20, 2020. A link will be posted on this page. Beloved Emeritus Professor Scott Burnham translated his popular Pre-Concert Talk to the virtual world, illuminating the program in a brief video that you can watch here

As part of the Watch Party, the ensemble engaged with viewers in a live Q&A facilitated by Princeton University Concerts Director Marna Seltzer. You can watch a replay of the discussion, which will remain available on our YouTube page.

“This is chamber music of overwhelming intensity...simply the best I've heard in concert.”
