Announcing “Sing for Today” by Joyce DiDonato, a new digital initiative,

We are pleased to be able announce the first installment of our newest digital initative, co-produced by PUC and the University Musical Society (University of Michigan). Conceived by multiple Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, “Sing for Today” features DiDonato responding to current events and global concerns through the lens of song and conversation in a series of short videos.

The first segment taps into the energy of the upcoming general election and features DiDonato singing “This Land Is Your Land” and talking with Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and student leaders of the Poll Hero Project: Kai Tsurumaki (Princeton Class of 2023) and Saika Islam (University of Michigan Class of 2021). Future episodes of “Sing For Today” will feature DiDonato singing and in dialogue with people from a variety of different backgrounds, calling on great songs to permeate profound events of the present day. The first episode and all future episodes will be available for free viewing on this page (upper right corner) and through the link below.
